Is Xuper TV Safe? Honest Safety Review of the APK
The short answer
The exact Xuper TV build hosted on this site is safe as far as testing can show. Our analyst installed version 6.5.7 on real phones, ran it for days, scanned it with multiple engines, and verified its signature. No malware flags, no mystery background uploads, no premium paywall ambushes. But "Xuper TV" as a name is not one file, it is dozens of files floating around the internet, and some of them are not clean. Safety lives in the specific file, so this review is about ours.
What the APK actually asks for
We pulled the permission list straight from the APK manifest instead of guessing. Here is the full list, in plain language:
| Permission | What it means | Our take |
|---|---|---|
| Internet, network state, Wi-Fi state | Streams video, checks connection | Normal for any streaming app |
| Read/write storage, media access | Saves downloads and cache | Normal, needed for offline downloads |
| Notifications | Sends update pings | Optional, you can deny it |
| Vibrate, wake lock | Keeps screen on during playback | Normal |
| Bluetooth | Likely for casting or audio devices | Harmless |
| Camera | Unusual for a streaming app | Worth noting; we saw no camera use in testing, but it is there |
| Request install packages | Can trigger installs of other APKs | The one to watch; used by some apps for self-updates |
| Ad ID, install referrer | Analytics and ad attribution | Common, privacy-relevant |
Nothing on the list is an automatic red flag, but camera access and install-packages are broader than a video player strictly needs. We watched network traffic during testing and saw nothing alarming, just video streams and ordinary analytics. Still, least privilege is a fair standard to hold any sideloaded app to.
How we verified this build
Our test process for every APK on this site runs the same gauntlet: install on five real devices across Android versions, run a malware scan before first launch, use the app normally for several days while watching for odd behavior (battery drain, background data spikes, permission prompts that do not match the feature in use), and verify the package name and signature match the developer's other releases. Xuper TV v6.5.7 passed all of it. The package name is com.msandroid.mobile and the file is 48.7 MB; if a file claiming to be Xuper TV shows different values, do not install it.
The risks that remain (honestly)
- Copycat files. The biggest real-world risk is not our file but the lookalikes. Always check size and package name before installing anything from anywhere.
- No Play Protect review. Sideloaded apps skip Google's screening, which is exactly why independent verification matters.
- Stream sources. The app aggregates streams from many sources. A safe app can still show you a sketchy ad or a dead link; that is a content problem, not a malware problem, but it is worth knowing.
- Updates. Sideloaded apps do not auto-update, so security fixes only reach you if you reinstall. Our update guide covers the routine.
Bottom line
Install the verified build from the official Super TV APK download page, keep your phone's own security settings on, and you are in the same risk territory as any mainstream sideloaded app. Download the same app name from a random mirror with no verification story, and you are rolling dice. The difference is the file, not the logo.
