How to Update Xuper TV to the Latest Version (Keep Your Data)
The golden rule of sideloaded updates
Xuper TV will never tap you on the shoulder with an update prompt. New versions land on download sites, and you fetch them yourself. That is slightly more work than Play Store apps, but the process is simple and your data survives it.
Updating without losing anything
- Check your current version in the app settings, About section.
- Visit our download page and confirm the hosted version is newer.
- Download the new APK (do not uninstall the old app).
- Open the APK and tap Install. Android detects the existing install and updates it in place, keeping favorites, watch history and settings.
- Open the app and verify the new version number in settings.
This works because both builds carry the same developer signature. If Android instead complains about a signature conflict, the new file came from a different source than your installed one, stop and get the file from the same trusted source as before. Our safety review explains why signature matching matters.
When to update
- Streams start failing in new ways. Old builds talking to new servers is a classic cause. Update before deep troubleshooting.
- A version announcement appears on this site. We only publish builds we have tested.
- Do not chase every decimal. If your build works, there is no prize for updating weekly. Update when something is wrong or a version you want is verified.
Rolling back
If a new version misbehaves, uninstall it and install the previous build fresh. You will lose app data in the rollback (uninstall wipes it), so this is the one case where favorites need rebuilding. Keep a note of your must-have channels somewhere outside the app if you update often.
Old versions
Sometimes you want a previous build deliberately, for an old device or a stable favorite. Our old versions guide covers when that makes sense and the trade-offs involved.
