How to Install Xuper TV on Android TV and Google TV

Why TVs need their own method

Android TV and Google TV hide the browser and file manager that make phone sideloading easy, and there is no touch screen to tap through an install wizard. So the TV process has three stages: get the APK onto the TV, allow the install, and open the app with a remote. Plan on ten minutes the first time.

Method 1: Downloader app (easiest)

Downloader is the standard sideloading tool on TV platforms and it is free on the Play Store.

  1. On your TV, open the Play Store and install Downloader.
  2. Open Downloader and grant it storage access when asked.
  3. In Downloader's address bar, type our download page address and go. (Short numeric Downloader codes also work if you have one handy.)
  4. Wait for the countdown on the page, tap the download button, and let the 48.7 MB file finish.
  5. Downloader will offer to install the file. If Android TV blocks it, go to Settings, then Apps, then Security and restrictions, and allow Downloader to install unknown apps.
  6. Tap Install, then Open. The app asks for nothing else, no account, no pairing code.

Method 2: USB drive

If your TV has a USB port and you have a file manager (install one like File Commander from the Play Store):

  1. On a computer or phone, download xupertv-app.apk from our download page and copy it to a USB stick.
  2. Plug the stick into the TV and open it in your file manager.
  3. Tap the APK, allow the install when prompted, and open the app.

Method 3: Send Files to TV

Install "Send Files to TV" on both your phone and your TV. Download the APK on the phone with our phone install guide steps (stop before installing), then beam the file to the TV over Wi-Fi and install it there.

TV build vs phone build: which did you just install?

The file on our download page is the mobile build (v6.5.7). It runs fine on TVs, but its interface expects touch. A dedicated TV build (the v4.34.x line) rearranges everything into big remote-friendly tiles. Our TV vs mobile version guide maps the two builds so you can decide whether to switch.

First launch checklist for the big screen

  • Picture. Open a live channel and check motion smoothness. If it stutters, the buffering fixes apply to TVs too, and a wired Ethernet adapter beats Wi-Fi for 4K.
  • Sound. If audio is out of sync on one channel, switch the stream's audio track or drop one quality step before blaming the app.
  • Remote. Learn the back button behavior early: one press backs out of a player, a long press usually exits the app cleanly.

Once it is running, the EPG guide shows how to read the program grid like a cable box, and parental controls are worth setting before the kids find the remote.
